Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the final assembly of major end items and drive continuous improvement through projects aimed at improving cycle time, reducing ergonomic risk to assemblers, automating processes, and reducing costs.
  • Develop, maintain, and review Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool and fixture designs.
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, quality, and design teams to implement robust processes for continuous improvement.
  • Make recommendations concerning the acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials to support renewed manufacturing capability.
  • Review and validate recommendations regarding manufacturability of existing and future products and advise modifications or adaptations to address quality, customer, product, or productivity constraints.
  • Implement a system to proactively manage equipment failures and leverage manufacturing innovations to improve cost, delivery, and quality of the two high-volume lines of the work center.
  • Provide real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators, both in-house and in the supply base as needed.
  • Lead corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence of issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of prior relevant work experience or an advanced degree in a related field and 3 years of prior relevant experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Active DoD security clearance is preferred.
  • Technical drawing interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE) and/or simulation tools, experience with military and industry standards, conducting safety/ergonomic assessments, familiarity with standard material handling practices, especially as they pertain to Electrostatic Discharge mitigation requirements, and proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, etc.) are preferred.

Hired applicants may also be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
