Highly Motivated English Teacher Wanted for Middle School Position

We are proud to manage 52 schools serving 19,000 students across five cities: Boston, Camden, New York City, Newark, and Rochester. Our graduates persist in and graduate from college at five times the national average, thanks to our strong academic, co-curricular, and social-emotional learning programs.
Camden Prep currently manages four schools serving students in grade K through 10, with plans to expand to grade 12. We believe in building strong relationships between teachers and students, supported by effective school systems and an engaging instructional model. Our middle school English Language Arts (ELA) teachers are passionate about literature and creating a positive classroom culture.
Job Responsibilities- Instruction: Teach an inclusive, culturally responsive curriculum to empower students to be their best selves.
- Data Analysis: Meet weekly with your principal and/or instructional coach to analyze trends in student work samples and assessments.
- School Culture: Build positive relationships with students, partner with families to support learning needs, and participate in practice-based professional development.
- A commitment to Uncommon Schools' mission and values, including being an anti-racist organization.
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting students' social-emotional and academic development.
- Enthusiasm for collaborating with internal and external partners to benefit students.
- Self-directed learner who solicits and implements feedback to improve outcomes.
- 1-2 years experience impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities preferred.
- Academic expertise in Humanities, English, Social Sciences, or related fields.
- Required: bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; NJ state certification eligibility requirements met within a reasonable period.
- Competitive compensation, with a starting salary range of $56,000 to $77,000 based on experience, education, and tenure.
