Services include cardiac care and cardiovascular medicine, emergency care for all ages, surgery services — including robotic-assisted surgery with the da Vinci Surgical System, a weight–loss program, orthopedic services, outpatient and inpatient radiology and rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep, oncology, wound care and women's and children's services.
Manatee Memorial Hospital also offers a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for babies with special needs.
Job SummaryThe RN-First Assist will work directly with physicians and other providers to ensure quality care and appropriate documentation for Surgical patients.
Member of the SCIP committee with active involvement in process improvement measures.
Performs functions delineated under surgical services ARNP/Physician Assistant delineation of privileges.
Responsibilities- Provides professional leadership and support to health team members through excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and working effectively with the entire healthcare team, patients, and families.
- Sound planning and work organization, working both independently and in teams.
- Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times.
- At least 3-5 years of First Assist OR experience.
- BLS and ACLS through American Heart Association, required.
- Current PALS Certification through American Heart Association.
- Current CSFA certification (through NBSTSA) or SA-C certification (through ABSA) must be maintained for employment.
- Maintains licensure as Surgical First Assistant where indicated by State Law.
- Completion of a CAAHEP accredited or ABSA approved First Assistant program that includes didactic and supervised clinical practice.
