Job Summary

Nuclear Medicine Technologist is a critical role in the healthcare industry, responsible for coordinating and performing diagnostic medical imaging procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and medical imaging equipment. This position requires a high level of professionalism and adherence to departmental protocols to provide accurate diagnostic images for patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Adhere to standards for radiation safety and for appropriate waste separation and disposal of radioactive agents by performing specific tasks mandated by Federal, State and Hospital policies.
  • Document daily all calibrations and flood films for all Nuclear Medicine imaging equipment, Dose Calibrator accuracy check, Hot Lab area survey, dispensed pharmaceuticals and radioactive source disposal.
  • Practice safe handling of radio nuclides and radiation safety procedures at all times.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, as prescribed by the Physician, by adhering to established procedures.
  • Perform periodic quality control tests, documenting according to Hospital policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate adherence to the CORE Values of CHRISTUS Health.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
RequirementsEducation/Skills

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required.

Experience

1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting required. 2 years of experience in a clinical Radiology setting is preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

Current State Licensure required. Current BLS (American Heart Association) required. Nuclear Medicine Technologist registration from ARRT or NMTCB required.

Work Schedule and Type

TBD. Per Diem As Needed.
