Job Summary

Nuclear Medicine Technologist plays a crucial role in coordinating and performing diagnostic medical imaging procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and medical imaging equipment. This position requires adherence to professional and departmental protocols to provide high-quality diagnostic images for patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Adhere to standards for radiation safety and waste separation and disposal of radioactive agents.
  • Document daily calibrations, flood films, dose calibrator accuracy checks, and radioactive source disposal.
  • Practice safe handling of radio nuclides and radiation safety procedures.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals as prescribed by physicians.
  • Perform periodic quality control tests and document according to Hospital policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate adherence to the CORE Values of CHRISTUS Health.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting required.
  • 2 years of experience in a clinical Radiology setting preferred.
  • Current State Licensure required.
  • Current BLS (American Heart Association) required.
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist registration from ARRT or NMTCB required.
