Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at AFC Urgent Care. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Responsibilities:
  • Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for physical exam.
  • Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner, and that results are documented and communicated to patients.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Draw blood and prepare labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing.
  • Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions.
  • Respond to all lab messages and call back requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations.
  • Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis.
  • Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of patient information and medical procedures.
  • Cross-train and assist in other areas of the clinic as operational needs require, such as a receptionist.
Qualifications:
  • CMA-Certified Medical Assistant Current certification by one of the following approved certifying agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), earning CMA credential; American Medical Technologists (AMT), earning RMA credential; National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), earning NCMA credential; National HealthCare Association (NHA), earning CCMA credential.
  • Weekday, Weekend, and Holiday work availability.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, with potential exposure to potentially infectious materials and chemicals.
  • BLS/First Aid Certification (Preferred).
  • Must be willing to travel to both our Willowbrook and Naperville locations.
