The Community Outreach Educator plays a vital role in enhancing community understanding of issues related to domestic violence, including adolescent relationship abuse. This position is dedicated to delivering age-appropriate educational content to various groups such as schools, faith-based organizations, youth associations, and other community entities. The aim is to implement prevention strategies that help diminish the occurrence of intimate partner violence across diverse community sectors.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a representative for educational institutions and youth organizations seeking presentations and outreach on domestic violence and teen dating violence.
- Collaborate with faith communities, local organizations, and businesses to provide informative sessions and speakers on domestic violence topics.
- Create and deliver tailored training and educational resources for distinct audiences.
- Facilitate established training programs for middle and high school students, as well as youth and young adult groups, throughout the community. Organize workshops for parents and professionals addressing teen dating violence.
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (such as education, public health, social work, criminal justice, or human services) along with a minimum of one year of relevant experience.
- Preferred knowledge of domestic violence issues.
- Strong ability to engage with both youth and adult audiences, coupled with public speaking proficiency.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
- Willingness to travel frequently to various presentation locations.
