About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and within budget.
  • Site Supervision: Provide on-site supervision and guidance to project teams, ensuring compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Cost Control: Manage job cost reporting processes, track quantities, and develop reports for status, cost versus budget, cost forecasting, and scheduling updates.
  • Estimating and Scheduling: Work with the estimating and project team to build and maintain project schedules from bid time through project completion, incorporating contract requirements, site restrictions, and procurement and design needs.
  • Communication and Coordination: Manage the flow of technical information between customers and the company, including submittals, RFIs, correspondence, and daily reports, requiring coordination with Quality Control and Project Management.
  • Subcontractor and Purchase Order Management: Negotiate, prepare, and manage subcontractor and purchase order contracts and payments, including change requests, generating requests for proposals, estimates, and analyzing quotes.
  • Field Engineering and Operations: Conduct field engineering, operation planning, cost control, project scheduling, quantity tracking, material procurement, contract administration, estimating, and supervision of field activities.
  • Problem-Solving and Quality Control: Investigate problems and/or reported incidents, identify and recommend solutions/alternatives as appropriate, and conduct job site quality control, safety, and productivity inspections and reviews to ensure conformance to design specifications and safety standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with project management and site supervision to participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling, and performance, and assist craftsmen, foremen, and project supervision with an interpretation of design documents and providing specific expertise for problem-solving activities.
  • Contract Administration and Change Management: Understand and interpret contracts, recognize and manage changes and all associated impacts, including pricing of change requests and schedule impacts, and assist with negotiation of change orders and back charges, and review and justify claims for additional compensation.
  • Project Close-Out and Documentation: Create and manage project close-out documentation and assume additional responsibilities as directed by operations or project management.
Requirements
  • Education and/or Work Experience: Degree in Construction Management and/or engineering required, or 5+ years of relative industry experience will be considered.
  • Skills and Abilities: Problem-solving skills, decision-making skills, effective listening skills, negotiation skills, attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication skills, ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Primavera (AutoCAD is a plus), strong organizational and time management skills, ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards, ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance, must be able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs, must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone, may have to walk on uneven surfaces and work in inclement weather conditions when visiting or working on-site, extensive travel will be required for this position, and the position will be onsite project-based for 90% of the time.
