Warehouse Operations Responsibilities:
- Efficiently pulling and picking orders based on pick tickets.
- Promptly receiving, processing, and storing incoming product shipments.
- Inspecting shipments for damage or shortages and documenting findings. Initiating freight claims when necessary.
- Verifying incoming delivery contents against packing lists to ensure accuracy.
- Preparing receiving reports and reporting any discrepancies to supervisors.
- Confirming vendor part numbers and stock numbers for all incoming products, determining proper storage locations.
- Selecting products from inventory to fulfill customer orders.
- Adhering to standards for preparing, packing, scanning, and staging products for transfers and deliveries.
- Processing necessary documentation for shipping transfers and customer orders, including bills of lading and packing lists.
- Loading delivery vehicles as required.
- Handling customer returns in accordance with company policies.
- Ensuring warranty paperwork is completed accurately and initiating warranty return processes.
- Conducting periodic cycle counts and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Maintaining a clean and safe warehouse environment, reporting any unsafe conditions to management.
- Operating hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other equipment safely and in compliance with procedures.
- Complying with safety and protective equipment policies.
- Maintaining required certifications for hazardous materials and equipment operation.
- Occasionally driving delivery vehicles to transport items as needed.
Education, Experience, and Skills:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with email and internet browsers.
Preferred:
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Experience with delivery vehicles, including vans and box trucks up to 26 feet.
- Familiarity with computer or barcode-driven inventory management systems.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, climb and balance on ladders and equipment, and perform various physical activities including walking, stooping, kneeling, and reaching. Most work is conducted in a warehouse setting without air conditioning, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures, dust, dirt, and noise.
