Facilities Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at N.B. Handy. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, inspecting equipment, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and organization of our warehouse and production areas.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and inspect plumbing maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
- Set up, plan, and perform electrical maintenance tasks, including the replacement or repair of fixtures.
- Monitor facility bathrooms to ensure cleanliness throughout the day.
- Monitor supply levels of products needed for janitorial tasks.
- Perform garden upkeep, collect trash, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems to identify and resolve issues.
- Check the functionality of safety systems to ensure a safe working environment.
- Develop facility maintenance schedules based on historical maintenance needs.
- Maintain records of all maintenance tasks performed in the last month or year for reporting purposes.
- Report any issues beyond routine checks and inspections to the facilities manager.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma required.
- Months of experience in facility maintenance and material handling.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency and meet difficult seasonal peaks, workloads, and deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with others.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong ability to anticipate facility needs.
- Highly organized, attentive to detail, and able to multi-task effectively.
- Ability to prioritize activities to meet facility expectations.
Physical Demands:
The job requires standing and walking for long periods, bending, twisting, and repeating the same movements. The employee must be able to lift up to 50lbs and frequently talk or hear.
