Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a geriatric setting.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the direction of nursing services for the unit/hall, in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Delegate duties to professional nurses and non-professional nursing personnel and monitor work performance under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Observe patients for symptoms and/or reactions, including general physical and/or mental condition, for signs that may indicate an adverse change.
  • Assist with notifying attending physicians of emergencies and deaths of patients in the unit. Implement orders of changes in orders as instructed or ordered by physicians.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school graduate.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse, graduated from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current, valid license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing and submit proof of license renewal every other year.
  • Willing to work as charge nurses and work as needed during emergencies to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Ability to provide quality nursing care to patients, follow doctors' orders, and have a genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
  • CPR certified yearly.
  • Attend in-service training and other staff meetings as required.
