Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Therapist to join our team at Mid Michigan Health. As a key member of our primary care treatment team, you will play a vital role in identifying, assessing, and managing patients with medical and behavioral health problems.

Responsibilities
  • Assess the clinical status of patients referred by primary care providers and intervene to attenuate further psychological or physical deterioration.
  • Assist primary care providers in recognizing and treating mental disorders and psychological problems, and refer cases to other behavioral health providers as necessary.
  • Facilitate patient engagement and follow-up care, and work with the primary care team to treat and manage patients with chronic emotional and/or physical health problems.
  • Provide brief behavioral interventions using evidence-based techniques, such as behavioral activation, problem-solving treatment, and motivational interviewing.
  • Document treatment response and monitor patients for changes in clinical symptoms and treatment side effects or complications.
Requirements
  • Masters Degree in Social Work or related field.
  • Licensure as a Licensed Psychologist or Master's Social Worker in the State of Michigan.
  • Membership in a professional organization, such as the American Psychological Association or National Association of Social Workers.
  • Training and experience in casework principles, including diagnosis, assessment, crisis intervention, treatment, and transition planning.

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and maintain regular and predictable attendance. The successful candidate will also be able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups, and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
