We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Training Instructor to join our team at Hawthorne Machinery Co. as a Technical Development Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of our technical employees and customers.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs for technical employees, focusing on applied electrical, engines/powertrain, hydraulics, and applied failure analysis.
- Assist in creating a skills database and tracking training progress to ensure employees are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their roles.
- Help coordinate the Technician Career Development Plan (TCDP) and identify training gaps to inform curriculum development.
- Develop and implement curricula, class materials, and facilitate classes based on skills inventory results and management requests.
- Work with key company personnel to develop class schedules and ensure seamless delivery of training programs.
- Stay up-to-date with new products and conduct NPI courses to maintain expertise and provide high-quality training.
- Coordinate alternative training delivery methods, such as computer-based training programs, web deliverable training programs, and distance learning programs, to cater to diverse learning styles.
- Provide customer training as required, ensuring that customers receive the necessary knowledge and skills to operate and maintain our equipment effectively.
- Conduct safety training as required, including lockout/tagout procedures, to ensure a safe working environment.
- Associate's Degree (AA/AS) or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Proven written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information effectively.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Flexibility and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities, with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
- Ability to travel, with a valid CA driver's license and a clean driving record.
