Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer - Controls Specialist to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland, you will be responsible for coordinating efforts to modernize industrial control systems and hardware.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop automation specifications and implementation resources to meet program/process requirements.
  • Support processes involved in manufacturing initiators, igniters, and thrust control systems.
  • Own the manufacturing process with in-depth understanding of requirements, process, equipment, tooling, and techniques.
  • Coordinate design and documentation of safe and affordable manufacturing processes.
  • Establish monitoring for Key Process Parameters using Statistical Process Control.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement of existing processes and implement verified changes.
  • Investigate non-conformance issues to determine root cause and corrective action.
  • Define requirements for new or repaired facilities equipment used in production or products.
  • Assist in developing scope of work and related estimates for proposal activity.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM, preferably in Electrical Engineering, and 2 years of experience or a Master's degree in STEM.
  • Experience with designing and programming process automation and industrial controls, electrical assembly experience preferred.
  • Experience with communications, data networks, and data collection.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work with minimal direction in a changing environment.
  • High energy, results-oriented, self-motivated/self-reliant, team player.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to acquire a Security Clearance, which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite.
