Job Title: Truck Mechanic

At Allan Myers, we are seeking a skilled Truck Mechanic to join our team. As a Truck Mechanic, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of our fleet of heavy construction equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with heavy construction equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and tire rotations
  • Assist equipment technicians and service personnel with technical support
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with field personnel and dispatch
  • Ensure quality of repairs to minimize recall and duplicate work
  • Comply with all governmental and company safety policies
  • Review shop tool requirements to optimize work efficiency
  • Participate in technical training with dealers and manufacturers
  • Work closely with field services dispatchers and parts personnel to ensure timely delivery of parts
  • Collaborate with internal departments, field managers, and superintendents to achieve project goals
Requirements:
  • 1 year of field experience repairing heavy construction equipment
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, power transmissions, hydrostatic drives, and hydraulic systems
  • Diagnostic capabilities with hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems
  • Ability to make repair decisions quickly and rationally
  • Expected to keep all sensitive material confidential
  • Able to arrange schedules, recommend machinery for repair, and make parts orders
  • Ability to give and receive written or oral instructions
  • Must have ability to work independently and safely
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to change
