We are currently seeking a Tax Manager to enhance our team. This role presents a unique opportunity to collaborate with a skilled group of tax experts and advance your career in accounting.

The Tax Manager will be responsible for guiding clients through the tax implications of their business strategies, assessing and recommending alternative approaches to minimize tax liabilities and compliance costs, and serving as the primary contact for intricate tax matters. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying potential tax challenges and effectively communicating risks and changes in tax legislation. Additionally, the Tax Manager will engage in networking and business development activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure clients adhere to all relevant regulations while minimizing tax and reporting obligations.
  • Guarantee that the tax team follows all firm policies and standards.
  • Recognize when further research is necessary and articulate issues for investigation; provide concise summaries of findings.
  • Establish strong relationships with clients to address various federal tax issues.
  • Assist in developing, proposing, and implementing effective strategies to optimize client benefits.
  • Provide tax consultations and communicate complex tax concepts clearly.
  • Enhance knowledge through ongoing education, tax research, and monitoring industry trends.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of technical and practical aspects of specific taxation areas.
  • Oversee engagement workflows, manage team resources, and handle billing processes.
  • Lead and mentor the tax team, fostering their professional development.
  • Deliver constructive verbal and written feedback to associates and senior associates.
  • Offer technical tax guidance and planning services across various projects.
  • Engage with IRS and state and local tax authorities as necessary.
Qualifications
  • 5 - 8 years of experience in taxation.
  • Previous supervisory experience is required.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Taxation, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • CPA certification is mandatory.
  • Experience in federal tax compliance, accounting, provisions, analysis, and research.
  • Ability to influence others through strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a sense of ownership.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and a positive demeanor.
  • Proven track record in business development and encouraging clients to achieve their potential.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed.
