Senior Tax Accountant

About Us

New Gig Solutions has partnered with a distinguished full-service accounting firm located in Marietta, GA, with over 20 years of expertise in delivering comprehensive accounting and tax solutions to a diverse clientele across all 50 states. Our client specializes in new business formation, accounting, tax, payroll, consulting, and human resources.

Responsibilities

  • Support client onboarding processes for all assigned engagements, ensuring adherence to defined procedures.
  • Execute tasks related to accounts payable/receivable management, bookkeeping entries, monthly book closings, financial reporting, and analysis. Duties may also include payroll and special projects as assigned.
  • Apply a comprehensive understanding of accounting practices, including preparing Depreciation Schedules, Sales Journals, Sales Tax Returns, and reconciling Payroll Records and Employment Tax Returns.
  • Conduct detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents, expenditures, and investments.
  • Forecast revenue and analyze profit margins.
  • Oversee ledger reconciliation and manage accounts payable/receivable.
  • Prepare and file Corporate and Individual Income Tax Returns, including annual 1099s and tax returns.
  • Experience with tax preparation and research software Ultra Tax /Accounting SAP
  • Research complex tax issues and identify viable solutions.
  • Assist with research projects and the preparation of financial reports as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • CPA License preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, audit, and/or tax. Experience with USGAAP is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software systems is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to conduct sophisticated analysis of complex data.
  • High dedication to a career in accounting and tax.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Excellent cross-group collaboration skills.
  • Highly organized with multi-tasking abilities and comfort in ambiguous environments.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to standard procedures.
