Overview

Ardent Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Seton Medical Center Harker Heights. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our respiratory services.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain effective communication with medical staff, administrative staff, and other team members to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Assist in incorporating the guiding principles of our organization into respiratory practice, promoting a personalized, professional, and quality approach to patient care.
  • Ensure that patient care is delivered in compliance with Joint Commission, local, state, and federal accrediting and licensing bodies' requirements.
  • Perform quality control on equipment and notify management of any potential malfunctions or hazards.
  • Explain diagnostic or therapeutic procedures to patients and their families in a thorough and professional manner.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including electrocardiograms, respiratory treatments, oxygen therapy, and ventilation initiation and management.
  • Enter and retrieve patient information from the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and document diagnostic and therapeutic procedures performed.
  • Provide minimal nursing care to patients, ensuring their comfort during procedures, and seek additional assistance when necessary.
  • Prepare and maintain department paperwork, verifying accuracy of information.
  • Ensure that patient care and billing are compliant with accrediting and regulatory agencies.
  • Answer telephones in a courteous and professional manner within three rings.
  • Clean equipment and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Care.
  • Associate of Applied Science Degree.
  • Licensed by the Department of State Health Services as an RCP- Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • RRT- Registered Respiratory Therapist credential obtained by the NBRC or CRT- Certified Respiratory Therapist must obtain RRT credential within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), STABLE Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 6 months of employment.
