Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate effective communication among medical, administrative, and nursing staff.
- Support the integration of guiding principles into respiratory care practices.
- Ensure patient care is delivered in a personalized, professional, and high-quality manner.
- Meet the requirements set forth by Joint Commission and other accrediting bodies.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards in patient care delivery.
- Contribute to the Quality Assurance and Improvement initiatives within Respiratory Services.
- Conduct quality control checks on equipment and promptly report any malfunctions.
- Thoroughly explain diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to patients and their families.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, including EKGs, respiratory treatments, and oxygen therapy.
- Utilize the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system for patient information management.
- Document all procedures and their effects on patient outcomes accurately.
- Provide basic nursing care to ensure patient comfort during procedures, seeking additional assistance when necessary.
- Maintain accurate departmental documentation and paperwork.
- Ensure compliance in patient care delivery and billing processes.
- Timely and accurately enter patient charges.
- Answer phone calls professionally and courteously.
- Keep equipment clean and work areas organized.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Care program.
- Associate of Applied Science Degree.
- Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Department of State Health Services.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with RRT credential to be obtained within six months of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- STABLE Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required within six months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Respiratory Care Therapist.
