About the Role

This position is an exciting opportunity to join the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration team as a BHIP Psychiatrist. As a key member of our mental health team, you will provide high-quality psychiatric care to Veterans with a wide range of mental health disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric care to Veterans with mental health and substance use disorders
  • Work as part of an integrated team of psychiatric providers, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and clinical pharmacists
  • Provide cross-coverage for psychiatric colleagues in outpatient settings
  • Participate in teaching and supervising Psychiatry Residents and Medical Students
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of mental health programs and services
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
  • Residency training in psychiatry or equivalent experience
  • Board certification in psychiatry (preferred)
  • Ability to obtain affiliate faculty appointment with the University of Arizona College of Medicine
