About the Role

Premier Orthopaedics is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team in East Norriton, PA. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our orthopedic specialists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate communication between patients and providers during patient care, collecting and sharing pertinent information as needed.
  • Prepare patients for visits with providers, including rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vitals, and preparing supplies for wound care and dressing changes.
  • Assist with cast and soft goods application, as well as the removal of casts, staples, and sutures.
  • Maintain exam room standards, restocking supplies and cleaning rooms as needed.
  • Monitor biohazard and sharps containers, replacing them as needed.
  • Assist providers in preparing patient prescriptions and completing medical and patient forms.
  • Retrieve and respond to voicemails within 24 business hours, documenting actions in the EMR system.
  • Prepare patients' electronic charts before the date of service.
  • Perform laboratory tests as needed.
  • Maintain the inventory of medical supplies and proper maintenance of medical equipment.
  • Verify that any outstanding testing results are recorded in the EMR system, confirming the appropriateness of the patient to the provider and noting imaging, DME, or casting needs.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program as defined by state regulations is preferred.
  • One-two years of experience is preferred.
  • The employee must pass the MA competency exam within the first twenty-four (24) months of employment.
  • The employee must have at least one (1) of the following active certifications within the first twenty-four (24) months of employment: Medical Assistant certification such as Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) with proof of current membership from American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with proof of current membership from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) with proof of current membership from National Health Career Association (NHA) (Test administered after 7/1/2017 only) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) with proof of current membership from National Certified Competency Testing (NCCT).
