Position Scope:

The Aquatic Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safety and hygiene of the aquatic environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge: Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English; understanding of safe aquatic practices.
  • Skills: Competence in using aquatic equipment and cleaning materials.
  • Abilities: Capable of multitasking and following safety protocols; effective interpersonal skills to engage with diverse individuals; ability to respond to emergencies appropriately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide lifeguarding services to ensure patron safety.
  • React to emergency situations and administer CPR/First Aid as necessary.
  • Document and report accidents or incidents accurately.
  • Participate in training sessions, orientations, and staff meetings as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness in and around the aquatic facility, including tasks such as hosing, vacuuming, and litter removal.
  • Complete necessary reports and maintain records.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves medium physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and performing various physical tasks such as walking, bending, and swimming. Candidates must be capable of executing emergency care when needed and must pass specific aquatic skill assessments.

Working Conditions:

Frequent interaction with individuals from diverse backgrounds is expected, which may include dealing with challenging behaviors. The work environment may vary between indoor and outdoor settings, with potential exposure to high noise levels.

Miscellaneous:

Qualifications:

Skills:

  • Lifeguarding/First Aid: Expert level preferred.
  • CPR/AED: Novice level preferred.

Education and Experience:

Some experience in customer service and maintaining cleanliness in aquatic environments is preferred.
