Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Security Supervisor, the Security Officer is responsible for executing assigned tasks to maintain a secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and property managed by Salem Hospital, Inc.

Key Responsibilities

As a Security Officer, you will be expected to:

  • Demonstrate familiarity with relevant regulations, enforcement statutes, and civil codes.
  • Exhibit effective communication and de-escalation techniques.
  • Build rapport with individuals in various situations.
  • Assist in lifting patients when necessary.
  • Maintain physical stamina to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Physically restrain individuals when required.
  • Utilize basic computer skills, which can be developed through on-the-job training.
  • Complete restraint and de-escalation training within the initial onboarding period.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • A valid and current Driver's License, with a satisfactory driving record as per Salem Hospital policy.
  • CPR and First Aid certification within the first week of employment.
Preferred:
  • Associate degree or higher in police science, law enforcement, or criminal justice.
  • Prior experience in Security, Law Enforcement, or Military service.
