Location: Onalaska, WI

Position Type: New

Working Hours: Monday – Thursday, 6:00am – 4:30pm; No mandatory overtime, no nights or weekends

Compensation: $27.00/hour (based on experience), with eligibility for wage increases twice a year

Role Purpose & Summary:

This specialized technician position is designed for individuals with strong technical skills and comprehensive knowledge of IT hardware. As a Senior Electronics Hardware Technician, you will engage in core processes that demand advanced technical expertise and troubleshooting capabilities, while also having the flexibility to assist in other technician roles as necessary. Success in this role hinges on your analytical thinking regarding hardware and your ability to enhance profitability through effective time and resource management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process production materials in accordance with established procedures, consistently achieving high performance. This includes verifying customer specifications and utilizing hand tools and software for material tracking. Key processes involve complex materials such as Apple devices, testing equipment, servers, and networking components.
  • Conduct advanced diagnostics on IT hardware, identifying, analyzing, and resolving intricate issues within hardware components.
  • Document and maintain production outcomes using software applications, including ERP systems and worksheets.
  • Embrace a mindset of continuous improvement, advocating for changes and serving as a subject matter expert when necessary.

Education & Qualifications:

To be considered, candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a foundational understanding of computer hardware.

Skills & Competencies:

Knowledge:

  • Required: Proficiency in computer refurbishing and repair, networking equipment, servers, Apple devices, IT hardware components, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques for both hardware and software issues.

Skills:

  • Required: Strong problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, work ethic, integrity, advanced computer operations, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Preferred: Experience with spreadsheet and database entry, as well as intermediate math skills.

Abilities:

  • Required: Analytical thinking, ability to work independently and as part of a team, eagerness to learn, proficiency with basic hand tools, adaptability to change, and the physical capability to exert up to 20 pounds of force regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally, while standing for the duration of the shift.
  • Preferred: Capability to track numerical data, recognize valuable electronic equipment, and manage small continuous improvement initiatives.
