Job Summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Law Enforcement Officer to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol hospital grounds and respond to emergency situations
  • Investigate incidents and breaches in security
  • Enforce established policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and response to emergencies
  • Participate in training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry standards
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in law enforcement or related field preferred
  • Must be licensed as a Peace Officer with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCLEOSE)
  • Must meet and maintain eligibility standards for licensing as a Texas Peace Officer
  • Must have a valid Driver License and obtain a Texas Driver License within 30 days of employment
  • Must pass the Police Officer Selection Test (P.O.S.T.) with a minimum overall score of 70%
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three or more years of experience as a law enforcement officer
  • Ability to pass a physical agility assessment
  • Ability to pass a typing test with a minimum of 20 words per minute
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
