About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant - Health Unit Coordinator to join our dynamic team at St. Joseph Medical Center. As a Care Assistant - HUC, you will play a vital role in supporting our nursing staff and ensuring the smooth operation of our patient care units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assisting with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiratory rate.
  • Document patient care, maintaining accurate and timely records of patient care activities.
  • Answer phones and respond to patient calls, providing prompt and courteous communication to patients and families.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate patient care, ensuring smooth transitions between departments and services.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring a safe and efficient workspace for all staff.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team, working closely with nurses to provide comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program (or military medical specialty training).
  • At least six months of related work experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Registration by the Washington State Nursing Commission as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Current healthcare provider BLS certification.
