Job Title: Water Treatment Plant Equipment Mechanic

Join the City of Suffolk, VA team as a Water Treatment Plant Equipment Mechanic. As a key member of our Public Utilities Department, you will be responsible for performing skilled maintenance and repair of water treatment plant equipment and related facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and lubricate water treatment plant pumps and motors
  • Maintain plant electrical equipment
  • Calibrate and adjust meters
  • Maintain facilities and surrounding grounds
  • Document equipment repairs and inspections
  • Assist with maintenance of parts inventories
  • Respond to emergency repair calls
Requirements:
  • Graduation from high school including or supplemented by vocational course work in electrical and mechanical repair
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in electrical or mechanical maintenance work
  • Valid Driver's License
