Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join our team at Lifespan's Newport Hospital. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality CT scans and operating the CT scanner to ensure accurate and efficient imaging results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform CT scans on patients of all ages, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
  • Operate the CT scanner to ensure accurate and efficient imaging results.
  • Prepare patients for CT scans, including administering contrast material and setting up immobilization devices as needed.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to establish and select the proper protocol for each patient.
  • Perform special reconstruction and segmentation as required.
  • Assist radiologists with abscess drainage and needle biopsies.
  • Perform daily quality control checks on the CT scanner and report any issues to the supervisor.
Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent required.
  • ARRT (RCT) registered with current State of RI Radiographer License and current State of Rhode Island Diagnostic Computed Tomography License or ARRT (CT) with current State of Rhode Island Diagnostic Computed Tomography License.
  • At least 3 months experience performing routine diagnostic radiology or CT exams.
  • Current CPR certification.
Physical Requirements

The ideal candidate must be able to sit for 7 or more hours, stand/squat for 1-3 hours, walk 3-7 hours, and lift 10-35 pounds with good body mechanics. Moderate twisting and frequent bending are required. The candidate must be able to use both hands and wrists with frequent fine motor movement and moderate repetition. Near vision must be accurate at 20/20, far vision 20/40, and accurate depth perception with minimal color discrimination. The candidate must be able to hear a whisper at three feet.
