Job Summary

The Computed Tomography Specialist is responsible for performing CT exams on patients as requested by the referring physicians. This role requires the ability to perform all CT exams and procedures in accordance with RHS policy and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Perform patient preparation and explanation of exams, respond to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process, IV insertions and contrast injections, and complete all associated patient and equipment screening and technical documentation.
Assist radiologists in performing CT imaging procedures, select proper protocol to obtain optimal images, and provide clinical documentation per scope of practice.
Perform with a high degree of safety and quality, preventing or reducing harms through knowledge and application of policies, procedures, and protocols using safety behaviors.
Prepare equipment, instrumentation, and departmental supplies required to support quality patient care, following ALARA principles according to policy.
Understand and adhere to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards, reporting variances.
Coordinate patient care, perform effective assessment, actions, and documentation, and monitor and maintain an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of services.

Requirements

2 years of CT experience.
Radiologic Technologists - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Computed Tomography (CT) certification upon hire.
CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute upon hire.
