Junior Sous Chef Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Dry Creek Kitchen in Sonoma Wine Country.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, food and beverage, and the guest experience. They will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in maintaining kitchen organization and creative menu development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining kitchen organization and creative menu development
  • Ensure food quality and freshness, and monitor ordering and stocking
  • Provide guidance to kitchen staff members, including line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating
  • Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
  • Train new kitchen employees to restaurant and kitchen standards
  • Manage food and product ordering, keeping detailed records and managing budgetary concerns
  • Ensure the kitchen and production areas are clean and maintained at highest safety standards

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a qualified kitchen
  • A passion for hospitality, food and beverage, and the guest experience
  • Ability to read and follow recipes and standards
  • Strong organizational and creative problem-solving skills
  • The ability to comfortably lead a team in a busy atmosphere
