Paramedic - ALS Ground Transport Specialist

The ALS Paramedic will provide advanced critical thinking capabilities while working autonomously and in collaboration with other healthcare providers in the delivery of care to ill patients requiring advanced life support in diverse and non-traditional settings.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and evaluate patient information to develop individualized plans of care.
- Implement and coordinate patient care delivery through delegation, coordination, and collaboration with other healthcare providers.
- Evaluate patient response to interventions and revise plans of care as indicated.
- Provide accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
- Integrate legal and ethical standards into practice and comply with regulatory standards.
- Current Idaho Paramedic license or plan to complete prior to start date.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for healthcare providers.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Current valid/unrestricted driver's license in state of residence.
- At least 1 year of experience as a 911 responder.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal directions.
- Able to transfer and position patients independently and safely.
- Understands position may require exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, radiation, and other conditions.
- Able to work irregular hours under high stress conditions.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and others that require Paramedic to verbally communicate, as well as hear, and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- 2-5 years' experience as a 911 responder.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Certification(s) as appropriate to area(s) of practice: (PHTLS) or higher.
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
- Must be able to perform duties in an indoor or outdoor environment.

12hr, 24 hr
