Critical Care Transport Nurse

The Critical Care Transport Nurse will demonstrate advanced critical thinking capabilities in working autonomously and in collaboration with other healthcare providers in the delivery of care to critically ill patients in diverse and non-traditional settings.
Job Description:Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a critical care transport setting.
- Develop and maintain a high level of expertise in critical care transport nursing, including knowledge of advanced life support, pharmacology, and medical equipment.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care and transport.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and transport processes.
Requirements:
- Current RN license in Idaho or plan to complete prior to hire.
- BLS Certification for healthcare providers.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Current valid/unrestricted driver's license in state of residence.
- Three years' experience in Critical Care (Adult or Pediatric)/Emergency Department and/or High-volume Obstetric unit.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification(s) as appropriate to area(s) of practice (i.e. Neonatal Resuscitation [NRP]).
- Advanced certification (CCRN, CFRN, CEN, CTRN, etc.).
- Transport experience in setting of HROB, pediatric critical care, adult critical care (flight or ground).
Work Environment:
The Critical Care Transport Nurse will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, transporting critically ill patients to and from medical facilities. The nurse will be required to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and may be exposed to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, radiation, and other conditions.
Physical Demands:
The Critical Care Transport Nurse will be required to lift and transfer patients, as well as push/pull gurneys and portable equipment. The nurse will also be required to stand for extended periods and navigate crowded and busy rooms.
