About the Role:

The Senior Accountant will work within the Finance and Accounting team to support the month-end closing process. The primary responsibility will be in the area of Asset accounting. The candidate must be self-driven and have a strong understanding of accounting principles, must be able to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform CIP analysis and work closely with business stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain fixed assets within the company's accounting system, including recording additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation in accordance with company policies.
  • Prepare Fixed Asset roll forward schedules and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and reports related to Fixed assets, intangible assets, and prepaids.
  • Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead).
  • Respond to inquiries from business stakeholders regarding accounting activities, reports, and other support.
  • Research discrepancies and correct variances to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Support the financial close process in line with close schedules and tight deadlines.
  • Develop, implement, and/or maintain one or more accounting systems, including journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, etc.
  • Reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules, and regulations.
  • Balances books and prepares profit and loss, cash flow, income, and balance sheet statements.
  • Monitors and develops monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects.
  • Provides a record of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions.
  • May prepare federal, state, and local reports and tax returns.
  • May assist in the setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track, and report revenue, including deferred revenue, in accordance with the company revenue recognition policy.
  • May generate revenue reports for internal and/or external use.
  • May interpret reports and records for managers/stakeholders.
  • May be involved in reviewing, tracking, and maintaining billing information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and other accounting regulations.

Qualifications:

  • 7 years of progressive experience in Accounting and Finance.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting or finance-related discipline.
  • CPA or International Equivalent, with SOX experience preferred.
  • Recent experience with SAP strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP.
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to independently and efficiently research.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment within tight deadlines.
  • Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
