Job Summary

This role will be the primary SME for maintaining all network cloud reference architectures, patterns, and Infrastructure as code (IaC).

This position needs to have a background in network engineering and have matured in cloud network deployments using code.

It is essential that this role has experience in deploying and maintaining AWS VPC's, TGW and firewalls using Terraform, Ansible and CloudFormation templates.

The Sr Cloud Network Engineer will need a good understanding of cloud regional/global routing challenges.

This role will work closely with Sr Network Architects/Engineers, other cloud engineers and application development teams to create cloud network capability patterns and create network Terraform modules for deploying them.

This role will be a mentor in developing a NetDevops strategy and continual improvement of code.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the development and implementation of Network Cloud code and repository leveraging Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation and Lamda functions.
  2. Work closely with the cloud transformation team to standardize cloud repositories and integrate pipelines into network Terraform modules.
  3. Design, Organize and Maintain Cloud Network patterns, standards, and documentation.
  4. Engage with Network Architects/Engineers, Cloud Engineers, Enterprise Architecture and Software Development teams on future roadmaps and patterns for cloud deployments.
  5. Maintain strong hands-on network technology skills in cloud routing, WAN and security Internet edge architectures.
  6. Mentor and train network Ops/Eng members, DevOps and application development teams in deploying network infrastructure using Network Cloud code.
  7. Responsible for network cloud escalations.
  8. Participate with EA teams, Network Teams, Cloud Team and Application Development teams to extract cloud deployment patterns to roadmap.
  9. Contribute to the cloud CoE and be a representative of Network concepts in cloud.
  10. Align with Sr Managers and Principle Network Architects on future state reference architectures to determine Network Cloud Roadmaps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Business Administration (or higher) in an IT related field.
  • Minimum 10+ years of large enterprise IT experience required.
  • Minimum 10+ years of Network Engineering.
  • Minimum 5+ years of AWS Terraform Deployments.
  • Minimum 5+ years multi-cloud global cloud experience.
  • Preferred 5+ years of Azure network deployments.
  • Preferred 5+ years Network Cloud Dynamic Global Routing.
