Job Overview

Position Summary: The Childcare Support Specialist is responsible for providing direct supervision and care for the children of ESL learners at our educational facility. The ideal candidate should possess a strong enthusiasm for nurturing children and delivering enriching educational experiences to diverse groups. This role is part-time and hourly, with shifts available in the morning or evening during weekdays.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit and encourage punctuality among peers and children.
  • Ensure a safe, engaging, and tidy environment for children aged 6 months and older from various backgrounds.
  • Maintain open and ongoing communication with parents and guardians.
  • Encourage and engage children in age-appropriate activities and play.
  • Actively participate in play and care activities with children.
  • Provide assistance to children as necessary.
  • Keep accurate records of children in care during each shift.
  • Create a warm and inviting atmosphere for childcare.
  • Listen to and accommodate parents' care preferences as much as possible.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly with supervisors.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; preference for candidates with coursework in Early Childhood Education or related fields.
  • At least one year of experience in child care, whether in a professional or personal capacity.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Must pass a background check and fingerprinting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish or Arabic are advantageous.

Work Environment:
Ability to work in various climate conditions, including both hot and cold temperatures, as well as wet environments, indoors and outdoors. Flexibility to work evening shifts is necessary.


Physical Demands:
Must be capable of standing for extended periods and frequent bending. The role requires the ability to lift small children and engage in play activities for up to two hours at a time.


Compensation:
$18 per hour.
