Position Overview:

NXP Semiconductors is seeking a Senior Graphics IP Architect to play a pivotal role in the research and development of our cutting-edge Automotive and IoT/Edge System-on-Chip (SoC) products. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience working with high-performance technical teams globally, focusing on delivering innovative graphics and user interface solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of the IP roadmap and strategy for display technology across all NXP display-enabled products, guiding architecture and engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Engage with industry standards organizations, such as MIPI and the HDMI Forum, to advance future display interface specifications.
  • Analyze the competitive landscape to understand technologies and approaches that ensure the differentiation of NXP SoCs.
  • Collaborate with fellow display and graphics experts at NXP to innovate critical technologies that set our products apart.
  • Work closely with business and engineering teams to develop product concepts and business cases.
  • Facilitate design development efforts, performance estimation, and analysis through both methodology and hands-on contributions.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture specifications and user guides.
  • Mentor junior and senior architects, sharing your domain expertise.
  • Utilize strong communication skills to foster collaboration across teams.

Challenges:

  • This role demands a broad expertise and understanding of system knowledge, including SOC integration, performance modeling, logic design, verification, and software driver development. You should be adept at anticipating and mitigating potential issues that may arise late in the product development phase.

Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in Computer or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in architecture, design, and/or verification.
  • In-depth knowledge of display panel technologies, SERDES signal quality, display video timings, color spaces, high dynamic range, and image processing.
  • Experience in developing and implementing display interfaces such as MIPI, DisplayPort, or HDMI.
  • Expertise in power optimization at the IP, SoC, and system levels.
  • Proven track record of architecting innovative product solutions with new technologies.
  • Experience in collaborating and aligning technical strategies across diverse, multi-location teams.
  • Active participation in international standards development organizations is a plus.
  • Ability to support strategic technology roadmaps and partnerships across various technology domains.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with customers.
  • A passion for innovation and a willingness to explore new ideas while influencing stakeholders through detailed investigations.
  • Comfortable addressing architectural issues at all levels, from micro-architecture to system and software architecture.
  • Experience with SOC infrastructure architectures and related system constraints.
  • Ability to work with emerging technologies and stay updated on the latest research advancements.
  • Thrives in a collaborative culture that encourages impactful contributions through ideas and empirical analysis.

  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming in Linux and Windows environments.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
