Position Overview:

NXP Semiconductors is seeking a Senior Display Controller & Graphics IP Architect to spearhead the research and development of cutting-edge Automotive and IoT/Edge System-on-Chip (SoC) products. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in high-performance technical teams and a proven track record in delivering innovative graphics and user interface solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Steer the IP roadmap and strategic direction for display IP technology across all NXP display-enabled offerings, guiding architecture and engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Engage with industry standards organizations, such as MIPI and the HDMI Forum, to promote the evolution of future display interface specifications.
  • Analyze the competitive landscape to enhance understanding of technologies and methodologies that ensure NXP SoCs stand out in the market.
  • Collaborate with fellow display and graphics experts at NXP to create essential technologies that provide differentiation.
  • Work closely with business and engineering teams to develop product concepts and robust business cases.
  • Facilitate design development efforts, including performance estimation and analysis through both methodology and hands-on contributions.
  • Generate and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture specifications, implementation guides, and user manuals.
  • Provide mentorship to junior and senior architects, sharing your domain expertise.
  • Utilize strong communication skills to foster collaboration across teams.

Challenges and Expectations:

  • This role demands extensive expertise and system knowledge, requiring collaboration with SoC integration and implementation teams, performance modeling, logic design and verification, as well as software driver and operating system development teams. The ability to foresee and mitigate potential issues during the post-silicon product development phase is crucial.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or PhD degree in computer or electrical engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in architecture, design, and/or verification.
  • In-depth knowledge of display panel technologies, SERDES signal quality, display video timings, color spaces, high dynamic range, and image processing.
  • Experience in developing and implementing display interfaces such as MIPI, DisplayPort, or HDMI.
  • Expertise in power optimization at the IP, SoC, and system levels.
  • Demonstrated success in architecting product solutions that incorporate new technologies or significant technological advancements.
  • Experience in fostering collaboration and technical alignment across multi-functional, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Active participation in international standards development organizations is a plus.
  • Ability to support strategic technology roadmaps and partnerships across various technology domains.
  • Proven ability to cultivate strong customer relationships.
  • A passion for innovation, creative problem-solving, and influencing stakeholders through thorough investigations.
  • Comfortable addressing issues across all levels of architecture, from micro-architecture to system and software architecture.
  • Experience with SoC infrastructure architectures and understanding related system constraints.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and ongoing advancements in research.
  • Thrives in a collaborative work culture that encourages impactful contributions to products and roadmaps.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A collaborative team player who actively shares knowledge and experience with colleagues.
  • Valued for networking skills, creativity, persistence, and passion for the field.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming within Linux and Windows environments.
  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML) networks and tools is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the LLVM compiler is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
