Classification: NON-EXEMPT

The Momofuku Lead Bartender will oversee the current bar program, collaborating closely with the beverage manager and General Manager. This role involves contributing to the evolution of the bar offerings, as well as mentoring new bartenders and bar backs in all operational aspects of the bar. The Lead Bartender will also assist in managing inventory, organizing tasks, and maintaining cleanliness standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Leadership:

  • Demonstrate exemplary service and beverage standards during shifts.
  • Manage preparation needs and strategic planning for the bar program.
  • Educate the bar team on new cocktails and ensure adherence to beverage standards.
  • Create learning opportunities for staff regarding cocktail and liquor knowledge.
  • Guide team members during shifts to uphold standards and communicate any issues to management.
  • Ensure a comprehensive and enjoyable experience for guests at the bar.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of food and beverage menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods.
  • Follow all company service protocols and standards.
  • Assemble alcoholic beverages in accordance with Momofuku's quality standards.
  • Utilize the POS system accurately for order entry and payment processing.
  • Ensure prompt and correct delivery of food and beverages to guests, confirming their satisfaction.
  • Maintain cleanliness of bar tools and areas.
  • Ensure accurate billing and timely proof of payment for guests.
  • Communicate respectfully with kitchen staff as needed.
  • Assist with beverage service across all dining areas.
  • Address any guest issues or complaints in collaboration with management.
  • Stock and prepare items related to bar service.
  • Adhere to grooming and dress code standards.

Inventory Management & Menu Development:

  • Analyze sales reports to identify trends in beverage sales.
  • Collaborate with the Beverage Manager to develop seasonal beverage offerings.
  • Standardize recipes and preparation workbooks with the management team.
  • Order, receive, and manage liquor and bar supplies inventory.
  • Assist the Beverage Manager with monthly inventory tasks.
  • Maintain an organized and clean liquor storage area.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of bartending experience in a high-volume setting.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of beverages and a passion for the service industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated work ethic, attention to detail, and collaborative spirit.
  • Open to constructive feedback and performance improvement.
  • Ability to think quickly and adapt in a dynamic environment.

Physical Demands:

This position requires the ability to see, hear, speak, reach, lift up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The role involves sitting, standing, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements can be met with or without reasonable accommodations.
