Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in a dynamic and patient-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a range of diagnostic imaging procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic exams, to produce high-quality images for medical professionals.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and address any questions or concerns.
- Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Identify patient information, label images, and process images to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Collaborate with radiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses and patient care.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, requiring lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
- Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
- Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
- Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
- Competent in radiology positioning and techniques.
- Knowledge of basic radiation safety and radiology equipment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to stand/walk for majority of the day.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
- Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
