Arcadis is seeking a skilled Traffic Signal Timing Engineer to contribute to the development of intelligent transportation systems in the Metro Atlanta region and throughout the State of Georgia.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, develop, implement, and fine-tune traffic signal timing to optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion.
- Analyze traffic signal operations on arterials and networks, and develop new signal timing parameters based on detailed analysis.
- Input traffic signal plans into central control systems and/or local controllers, and design and analyze traffic surveys to evaluate signal timing effectiveness.
- Develop traffic studies and impact reports, and create project scopes, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
- Communicate effectively with clients on complex technical issues, and display flexibility in adapting approach or methods to fit the situation.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an appropriate area of engineering.
- 4+ years of relevant work experience in engineering.
- Experience with SYNCHRO and simulation models such as VISSIM, PARAMICS, and TransModeler.
- Desirable qualifications include experience with signal timing analysis tools, simulation tools, and Q-Free Signal Software and Firmware.
- Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
