About the Role
We are in search of a seasoned Electrical Engineer to join our Digital Application Engineering team. This position is based in Huntsville, AL, and is ideal for a multi-disciplinary engineer with a solid foundation in Electrical Engineering, complemented by expertise in Software, Systems, Mechanical, and/or Chemical Engineering.

Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing, and testing software programs for printing systems.
  • Engaging in project meetings to define direction and priorities.
  • Participating in design reviews for electronic and software systems.
  • Enhancing and maintaining the existing codebase to improve functionality and address issues.
  • Creating electronic hardware designs for various applications.
  • Writing firmware to control in-house designed electronic hardware.
  • Developing and testing FPGA programs for printhead control.
  • Facilitating the transition of electronics and software to the manufacturing side for production.
  • Documenting user guidelines for software and printing systems.
  • Contributing to various inkjet-related engineering projects, including color management and substrate interaction.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A BSEE or MSEE degree.
  • Significant experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in firmware development using C and/or C++.
  • Experience in Windows software development, particularly in C#, .NET environments.
  • Familiarity with FPGA and VHDL programming.
  • Knowledge of electronics design involving microprocessors.
  • Experience with PCB design.
  • Proficiency in tools such as OrCAD Schematic Capture and Xilinx Vivado.
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to collaborate effectively within a small team.
