Key Responsibilities of the Parts Consultant
  • Assist all internal and external customers in person or via phone in selecting necessary parts in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Retrieve and fulfill orders from inventory.
  • Inform the parts manager of any out-of-stock items requiring immediate attention; source out-of-stock parts from external suppliers and submit emergency orders as needed.
  • Restock assigned inventory on a daily basis.
  • Ensure all internal parts requests are billed on service repair orders.
  • Process payments from retail customers or obtain credit authorizations.
  • Issue and monitor requested shop tools for technicians.
  • Required to document lost sales.
  • Proactively communicate potential issues with customers, management, and other departments to enhance the customer experience.
  • Adhere to company policies and departmental best practices, and perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Applicants must complete RBM's standard screening process prior to employment, which includes: submitting a full employment application; satisfactory background checks (criminal, credit, and driving records where applicable); in-person interviews; and other inquiries.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with authorization to work in the USA for any employer.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is mandatory.
  • Basic communication and problem-solving skills; basic math skills using American units of measure.
  • Physical requirements include: remaining stationary for extended periods, operating office equipment, and repetitive motions. When working at the Parts Counter, physical activities include: consistently positioning the body and moving to handle inventory and complete job tasks; identifying safety concerns; exerting force to move/manipulate objects (up to 100lbs occasionally, 65lbs frequently, 25lbs constantly). Work is conducted indoors, outdoors, and in a shop environment near moving vehicles and mechanical equipment, with occasional exposure to chemicals and moderate to loud noise levels.
