Job Title: Diesel Mechanic - Equipment Specialist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic - Equipment Specialist to join our team at Precision Concrete Construction. As a Diesel Mechanic - Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for investigating problems with different types of motor vehicles and making repairs accordingly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use manual and computerized diagnostic methods to identify potential problems in a vehicle
- Explain mechanical problems and possible solutions to clients
- Plan work and testing procedures using charts, experience and other organizational methods
- Test parts and systems to ensure they work correctly
- Ensure all critical parts are checked and tested
- Perform basic automotive care, including changing oil and rotating tires
- Repair or replace worn, old or defective parts of a vehicle
- Repair or modify a vehicle to a client's specifications, if possible
- Assess vehicles and/or machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues
- Liaise with clients to determine their automotive requirements and communicate vehicular defects or problems
- Provide routine inspections of vehicles and inform clients of any issues
- Prepare quotes and work estimates as requested
- Keep an accurate log of all work performed
- Maintain and clean garage equipment and tools to ensure they are kept in a safe and usable condition at all times
- Adhere to company work safety policies
- Consult the customer and reading work orders to evaluate the tasks required
- Prepare work plans after fully scoping out the issues
- Run diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions
- Inspect vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts
- Repair or replace vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines and other associated parts
- Conduct field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown
- Test drive repaired vehicles to gauge their performance
- Complete oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks
- Maintain records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles
Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License (required)
- At least 18 years old (required)
- Pass physical and drug test (required)
- 1 year of experience (preferred)
