The Injection Molding Process Specialist is responsible for configuring and fine-tuning machine settings in accordance with established operational benchmarks. This role is crucial in maintaining optimal efficiency and cycle times throughout production runs, ensuring that product quality and conformity standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the setup and ongoing maintenance of injection molding machinery, tooling, and related processes.
  • Contribute to the technical advancement of production processes.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and repairs of machinery, including injection molding screw assemblies, molds, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering teams to refine and troubleshoot processes, tooling, and new product introductions.
  • Participate in mold verification, mold changes, and job setups.
  • Drive initiatives for process enhancements, focusing on reducing setup times, minimizing scrap, and increasing throughput.
  • Conduct regular troubleshooting of injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with production schedules on the manufacturing floor.
  • Review setup sheets and process parameters to maintain quality standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues during setup and throughout production.
  • Continuously monitor the performance of molds, machinery, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Authorize full production once setup is finalized and first piece approvals are secured.
  • Implement process control checks to verify compliance with molding standards.
  • Prepare equipment repair work orders and lead initiatives to enhance mold performance.
  • Assist with mold setting as required.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following:

  • An associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the plastics industry.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on processing experience in injection molding.
