Job Overview

Position Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for preparing monthly financial transactions and accruals. This role includes reconciling financial entries while delivering comprehensive financial analysis, reporting, and support for the Program Accounting Department. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to manage their time and workload autonomously.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor and evaluate critical financial indicators and operational practices to promote efficiency improvements and cost reduction.
2. Analyze, assess, and adjust extensive data sets utilizing various database and querying tools to compute payments and accruals, while also providing analytics and reporting for transactional services.
3. Engage in the creation and application of financial models and analyses. Assist in budget preparation and forecasting as instructed by the supervisor.
4. Assess financial risks and opportunities by developing and reviewing operational and financial metrics.
5. Aid in the generation of weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports.
6. Investigate variances from budget and forecast through meticulous operational and financial metrics and articulate findings.
7. Prepare and review journal entries during month-end and year-end processes.
8. Exercise independent judgment and discretion in significant matters consistently.
9. Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and varying schedules as required.
10. Compile and disseminate financial reports and analyses to support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
11. Analyze monthly invoices and accruals for accuracy in relation to financial statements and reporting, including researching, resolving, and communicating any potential discrepancies.
12. Contribute to process enhancement and standardization initiatives by identifying risk areas and proposing improvements.
13. Review audits conducted by networks and develop a streamlined process for research, analysis, and tracking in this domain.
14. Execute various ad hoc projects, including research, analysis, and summarization of data requests as assigned.
15. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience in a relevant field.

Experience:
Typically requires 3-5 years of related experience.

Additional Qualifications:
Experience in industry and/or public accounting or a similar work environment.
Strong analytical capabilities.
Proficient in managing large data sets.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Solid understanding of Essbase and experience with Oracle.
Proficient in database tools (Teradata, SQL, Microsoft Visual Studio).
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).

Required Skills:
Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel (2 - 4 Years).
