Patient Care Technician PCT

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our Ambulatory Float Pool team at Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems. As a Patient Care Technician, you will provide direct, age-specific care to patients in a variety of clinical settings, working under the direction of a licensed nurse or physician.
Key Responsibilities- Provide safe and direct care to patients, making age-appropriate adjustments as needed.
- Monitor patients' conditions and provide updates to the healthcare team.
- Assist with feeding, hydration, and nutrition, as well as ambulation and patient mobility.
- Collect and record patient information, including vital signs, intake/output, and other relevant data.
- Participate in hospital, department, or unit patient safety initiatives.
- High School degree or equivalent required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent experience preferred.
- AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and adapt to frequent change.
This role requires the ability to work in a variety of clinical settings, including high-stress environments with fluctuating workloads. You may be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse, as well as limited hazardous substances or body fluids.
