About the Role

A Place Called Home is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Career Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Professional Readiness and Employment Program (PREP), you will be responsible for implementing and facilitating job readiness training curricula for our after-school members and Da Vinci RISE members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work Readiness Preparation
    • Develop and conduct exercises that promote critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration among members.
    • Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate mock interviews and other preparatory exercises for employment opportunities.
    • Assess and document member progress in work readiness.
  • Career Exploration & Exposure
    • Coordinate a wide array of career exploration opportunities, such as workshops, guest speakers, field trips, and employer site visits.
    • Educate members on vocational/trade training programs and career pathways.
    • Maintain and manage a database of career-related opportunities, including internships, externships, job shadowing, and vocational training.
  • Career Guidance
    • Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Professional Readiness to create individualized career plans for members.
    • Prepare high school members for internships and externships through assessments, mock interviews, resume and cover letter preparation, and application assistance.
  • Work Experience Support
    • Help members research and apply for job and training opportunities.
  • APCH High School Internship
    • Coordinate APCH's internship program, including recruiting participants, developing job descriptions, training, evaluations, and processing timesheets.
Requirements
  • Two years of experience working with teens and young adults in career/vocational guidance.
  • Two years of experience in an office environment.
  • Experience in facilitating or instructing youth.
  • Experience in developing and implementing job readiness curriculum.
