Job Title: Critical Care Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Specialist to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a Medical Intensivist Lead, you will play a key role in providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients in our MICU. With your expertise and leadership skills, you will oversee the care of these patients, working closely with internal medicine house staff, ICU hospitalists, and other healthcare professionals.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong clinical background in internal medicine, with experience in critical care medicine. You must also possess excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, you will need to be certified in BLS/ACLS and have a valid Connecticut medical license.

Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care, including evaluation, management, and coordination of care for critically ill patients.
- Supervise internal medicine and emergency medicine house staff, as well as critical care fellows and ICU-based hospitalists who work overnight in the MICU.
- Participate in continuing medical education (CME) activities annually to improve quality of care provided by the service.
- Report any concerns about safety to the operations manager, director, or medical director of the intensive care unit.
- Follow all Yale-New Haven Hospital patient safety policies and procedures for healthcare providers.

Qualifications:
- MD Degree with full IM residency training and board certification in Internal Medicine is mandatory.
- Completion of a Critical Care Medicine or Pulmonary Critical Care fellowship program is required.
- Board eligible in Critical Care at the time of hire.
- Attending medical staff privileges while at Yale-New Haven Hospital, hold a valid Connecticut medical license, CT Controlled Substance Registration, and Federal DEA Certificate.
- BLS/ACLS certified.

The estimated salary for this position is around $320,000 per year, based on industry standards for critical care specialists in the Northeast region of the United States.
