Patient Access Coordinator

Job Summary

The Access Center Nurse is a critical role within GBMC HealthCare, responsible for managing patients pending admission to our programs. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills to facilitate timely resolutions and ensure patients receive necessary care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a database of patients pending admission, tracking and reporting on delays in care.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for workflow improvements and program development.
  • Participate in the development of Field Access RNs and coordinators.
  • Report to the Director of Access.
Requirements
  • Diploma, ADN, or BSN from an accredited institution.
  • Two to four years of nursing experience, with hospice admission experience preferred.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Advanced skills in data analysis and problem-solving.
  • Valid Maryland State license as a Registered Nurse.
Working Conditions
  • Normal office environment.
  • May be exposed to adverse working conditions due to patient care activities and communicable diseases.
