CSU Director

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of CSU Director. This position requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as a deep understanding of the juvenile justice system and its complexities.

• Provide leadership and management to the court service unit, ensuring effective operations and adherence to departmental, state, local, and judicial requirements.
• Manage human and capital resources, including personnel management and budgeting.
• Collaborate with local stakeholders, community partners, and the judiciary to achieve common goals and objectives.
• Oversee the administration and evaluation of criminal justice practices and program needs.
• Develop and implement evidence-based practices within criminal justice programming.

• Considerable knowledge of federal, state, local, and public laws and ordinances relating to criminal justice.
• Considerable experience managing or supervising a unit or multiple employees, including personnel management and leading organizational goals and practices.
• Demonstrated experience communicating effectively and establishing collaborative relationships with all levels of staff, partner agencies, and community stakeholders.
• Experience overseeing the administration and evaluation of criminal justice practices and program needs.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices within criminal justice programming.
• Knowledge of budgeting and procurement practices.
• Working knowledge of MS Office programs.

• Progressive supervisory experience in a juvenile court service unit setting.
• Budget management experience.
• Experience utilizing automated case management systems.
